2020
A global pandemic
Like most industries, wellness experienced a shift during and after the global COVID-19 pandemic effects.

Demand for in-house wellness products and content increased as lockdowns were implemented and health was a trending topic.
Distance education and socialising was pivotal in allowing people to stay at home, and telehealth, food-delivery systems, and online fitness routines were adopted as essentials, all of which fall under the wellness umbrella.
In the United States, TikTok saw a 180% increase in users aged 15-25 during the pandemic.
The introduction of remote and work-from-home systems highlighted the value of employee wellness, and the prevalence of mental wellbeing took centre stage - better late than never.
